by | May 26, 2026

For The Guardian US, Daniel A Medina reported a long-form profile on comedian Charlie Berens. Medina told Study Hall, “Last summer, Berens began using his platform to shine a light on hyperscale AI data center projects in his home state of Wisconsin. Many of these projects have often been developed in secrecy, through use of NDAs and shell companies, despite their huge price tags and massive footprint on communities. Berens’ videos have reached millions and he’s become the de-facto leader of a growing movement in Wisconsin, where polls show that resistance to these projects has risen dramatically in the last year.”
