For Slate, Olivia Layne Babyok wrote an op-ed about how though GLP-1 drugs are “remarkable,” “guidelines and prescribers need to go further in how they evaluate patients.”  She told Study Hall about her writing and pitching process: “As a PhD candidate studying the intersection of neuroscience and gastroenterology, I’ve been stunned by the lack of scientific reporting on the rise of GI issues and the quick fixes associated with them. I decided to share my informed opinion on the use of GLP-1s with Slate magazine, and thankfully, I was encouraged to publish it.”
